A Look Inside: RV Makeover

renovate1
We have completed the interior RV renovation and we could not be happier. We are very fortunate that we already loved everything inside the RV and all we needed to accomplish was a cosmetic overhaul. Paint, new hardware, fabric, carpet, wood laminate flooring, new shower fixture, and some other small items, and a lot of elbow grease, grunting and sweating.

We spent approximately $1,200 on the renovation (we bought a lot of paint!) - and we plan to share our purchase list with you in an upcoming post. And yes, we completed the entire process ourselves (some have asked). We did have one individual gift us our lovely new wardrobe mirrors, including installation (thanks Jerry!) - they are fantastic!

If you are interested in seeing the results, we have them posted for you here >

    Lena and KK,

THAT LOOKS FANTASTIC!!!! I can’t believe how modern and cozy you’ve made that RV. Now I understand why it took so long. You both have great taste in decorating, and you should be very proud of what you accomplished. I can’t wait to see it in person!

    Hi Lena and KK,

All that work has really paid off! You have a first class, elegant ride now.

    Three (3)-D questions:
Are there solar panels on the rooftop?
    What is your geographic location?

Hey Linda + Kenneth! We are still working on the RV. Planning to install hedders this weekend, and then working on painting the exterior, weather permitting. We’ll get in touch when we head your way.

Jeff - we have not installed solar panels yet, but that is a main interest. We’ll certainly blog about it and share the details.

    Ali - ecstatic! Yes!

HI, I HAVE BEEN ADMIRING YOUR RENO, AND HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS REGARDING THE ‘HOWS’ OF WHAT YOU DID, I THOUGHT THEY MAY HAVE BEEN COVERED ELSEWHERE BUT CANNOT FIND THEM.
BY EXAMPLE, WHEN YOU PAINTED THE WALLS, HOW FAR INTO THE WINDOW FRAMES DID YOU PAINT/ THERE HAAS TO BE A POINT AT WHICH YOU HAVE AN EDGE, BUT i CANNOT SEE ENOUGHT DETAIL ON YR PHOTOS. dITTO THE CEILING, DID YOU SIMPLY ‘CUT’ A LINE INTO THE WALL/CEILING JUNCTION?
OMG just realised I had caps lock on….sorry!

Thanks sg. As a matter of fact, I just today completed a blog entry with a list of products that we purchased for the renovation. It’ll be posted this week.

I have a 5th wheel and have been searching for renovated RVs/trailers. Of the few I have found, I like yours the best! Love the colors, changed out hardware, flooring and upholstery. Now, the task doesn’t seem so hard: little changes do make a BIG difference. I had considered ordering new cabinets from Ikea since their products are scaled down but I believe with new paint and hardware I can save some $$ and still get a fantastic look. Any tips for painting? Thanks!
