We sold the RV! And we could not have hand-picked better new owners. They called us from Destin, Florida and the next day we were showing Karen and Joe around the motorhome. They seem very pleased with it and are already using it.

Karen Griffiths is a brilliant painter and her work is amazing. Check out her paintings at her website: www.karengriffiths.org. And Joe Sixpack is easily the best guitarist on the Gulf Coast. Look for his band Cruise Control (R&B, Motown, Country…) at a cool bar near you.

So much talent - and they are such a generous and sweet couple too. We could not be happier that they purchased our little RV.

And don’t forget Waldo. He’s the new king of the castle! He is also the new captain and will not leave the driver’s seat. All RVs need a dog, don’t they?

For more doggy action, check out the latest at the dog gallery >

Thanks again to everyone who followed us on our journey and stay tuned for more No Destination updates.

The United States Government refuses to honor their word, and kk is still green-card-less. Because of this, we may be moving to England (yeah!) where at least we can travel freely and work as needed. Plus we can see some family members that we have not seen in years! We are very happy about this.

Our adorable 1988 Winnebago Chieftain is officially for sale. You can review the details here.

For the holidays we were in North Carolina, visiting family and friends.

In January, we were in Carolina Beach, North Carolina. We were there for a month, renting a friend’s condo. It snowed twice while we were there.

Mid-February we headed back to Florida. Currently we are settled down in Pensacola for a while. We have plans to visit Austin, Texas this spring.

Coming Soon: We’re working on The No Destination Experiment. We are compiling a fun yet scientific report about our sustainability project. It will be available this summer.

We sure miss this place. End Of The Line Cafe is the best eatery in the whole of Pensacola, maybe even Florida. Totally vegan, the small and quaint cafe serves sandwiches, soups and snacks for unbelievably reasonable prices. The atmosphere is great, the staff are friendly and the food is delicious. It seemed like we ate here almost every day, probably because we did.

EOTL serves a vegan dinner on Thursdays evenings between 6 and 9pm for $9.50 a head, and a scrumptious brunch on Sundays between 11am and 2pm for $8.50.

I love the BLT sandwich, with soy bacon and veganaise. They also had a Knuckle’s sandwich special, with tofu, soy bacon, peppers and onions, with the proceeds funding surgery for Knuckles the daschund. Most dishes are served with a side, which may be pasta, soup or salad. The menu varies almost daily, with regular specials and seasonal variety.

If your mouth is watering as much as mine, head to EOTL, located at 610 E. Wright Street, Pensacola, FL 35201

(850) 429 0336

www.eotlcafe.com

Hours are 10am - 10pm Tuesday through Saturday, Sunday 11am - 5pm and they are closed Mondays. Check their website for full menu, events and further details.

It is time to say goodbye to Pensacola Florida. Pensacola has been our host city for the past two months and we could not have chosen a better place to settle down for a while. We were in and out of campgrounds, working in the park, visiting the very white sandy beach, and frequenting the amazing End of The Line cafe - a vegan’s paradise. All of these aforementioned events will be showcased in upcoming posts.

We are looking forward to getting back in touch with everyone. Please visit our blog again soon! We have the Best of Pensacola, more Cool Stuff, RaWednesday, more Dog Posts, RV News, and Tiny Vegan Kitchen!

Very Cool Stuff: Alltel Wireless Internet

The only way our life on the road can work is if we have dependable internet connection, from the RV.

We both work online;
we use skype phones which requires an internet connection;
it is our news source;
our movie theatre;
kk is a geek;
and we also use it for mapping and navigating.

So, in order to make our little adventure work, we need to have access to the internet all of the time, no matter where we are.

Alltel to the rescue! We have a USB modem that connects directly to our laptops. One shares connection with the other. Sometimes our connection is faster and more stable than other times. The cost is $60 per month, which is about the same rate we paid for high speed in our apartment.

We’ve had excellent coverage, and we’ve been on remote beaches, in corn fields, in the mountains and lost in the middle of no where. So far so good! And no more hunting for WiFi.

Usually, the ingredients of a real salad are raw. (less the cheese and croutons and bacon bits and boiled eggs) Once you have the vegetables and fruit in the bowl, it is the dressing that can leave you wondering. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Macadamia oil, with some squeezed lime juice and dash of Himalayan crystal salt

Or, equal parts lemon juice, orange juice and lime juice; add fresh minced garlic; some fresh dill and a pinch of Celtic salt (add a little olive oil if you want it thicker to cling on the lettuce)

Glass, hot wax, fire - not a good idea in a small, un-level, moving house. Trust us.

Fortunately my great friend Laura aka Ciao Laura hooked us up with some DemiGlow Candelas. She knew they were cool before we got the RV! These candelas give off a warm glow; have friendly LED lights; are not effected by wind, surprisingly; and they come with a super mod little charging base. Perfect for a little crooked, moving caravan.

You can check out the candelas at the OXO website.

Another very cool thing you can check out is the Ciao Laura website.

As we encounter very cool stuff that works well in the camper, we’ll post them on our blog.
